Second Wind — For Men in Midlife

Carrying

Lately I’ve been noticing just how much men are carrying.

I hear it in conversations with other men. Things from the past that were never spoken, regrets about time missed with kids or now with grandkids, the weight of caring for partners, relationships that ended but were never really grieved.

What stands out is the strength in saying it out loud. Not to be fixed or advised, just spoken and heard. That alone seems to let a bit of air out of the tyres. Not collapse. Just enough relief to keep moving.

Sometimes being heard is enough to change the weight of things.
